Renovating a house can reek havoc on your landscape. Luckily for this family in the University Park neighborhood of Dallas, it created a clean-slate for Weston Gardens to make the homeowner's outdoor-living dreams come true.
Wanting a no-mow landscape, the yard was considered in three zones; under-story/shade, outdoor living, and sunny. Using a cool color pallet of blues, purples, and whites creates a calming mood for this backyard. The addition of slow-growing trees adds a height element that breaks up the zone between the ground-level plantings and the large existing tress. A cobblestone dry-stream meandering through the yard solved the site’s drainage challenges in an aesthetic, natural way.
