homestead ranch

This sprawling ranch sits on a beautiful piece of property with incredible views. Access, drainage, and deer were just a few of the issues that made this site challenging.

The house was set into a hillside causing any water falling off the house to erode the soil at the foundation. Large boulders were set around the house and driveway to slow down the water and retain the soil. Texas droughts made even plants that are considered deer-resistant a perfect snack for the pesky animals on the site. Cedar fencing was installed around bed areas to keep the deer out of the beds but allow visual sight-lines to the plants and add to the rustic aesthetics of the property.
